Our Ethos

We are a small independent Coffee shop situated in the heart of one of the friendliest villages in Leicestershire.

Our ethos is simple – we source and sell the best local ingredients we can find and produce a small but quality menu.

Our Coffee and Teas are from St Martins Roastery in Great Glen, a favourite roastery of mine for many years. Ethically sourced, locally roasted and high quality, their coffee is to savour.

All teas are loose leaf and served in a pot with a China cup – just the way it should be. This is tea as it should taste.

Our Bread is from Belvoir Bakery on the border of Leicestershire. Four ingredients – flour, yeast, water and salt and there it is – the tastiest rustic baguette and sourdough – the basis for our brunch and lunch.

Less than 2 miles as the crow flies is Woodhouse Farm – a producer of award-winning meats all reared on their farm with high animal welfare standards and quality in mind. Home dry cured bacon and meaty sausages with no additives. Combined with Belvoir bakery bread and it’s a bacon or sausage combo that’s hard to beat.

Just down the road is Fosse field farm who provide us with tasty free- range eggs.

The centre of Barwell is home to Barwell Butchers who provide us with quality meats and just a stone’s throw away is Fresh and Fruity who provide us with local fruit and veg including Elmesthorpe tomatoes and Smockington land cress.

All dishes are cooked fresh to order – slow food – no fast food here.

The bakery in our name comes from our love of baking cakes – Victoria sponge to Vegan chocolate brownies -all made in house – homemade is best.

All our food and drink is available to eat and drink in house – or takeaway in recyclable and compostable packaging.

Enjoy
